“As a result of 3 285 control activities carried out by the Operational Investigation Department of RA MF over the 9 months of 2014 9.4B drams of additional payables were recorded. This rate exceeds the result of last year’s same period more than twice and despite the fact that the number of control activities fell by 118, the revealed amount grew by 5.1B drams or 118.6%,” mentioned Head of 4th Division of Operational Investigation Department, Colonel of TS Ashot Zakaryan summarizing the results of this year’s 9 months.
Ashot Zakaryan called for taxpayers to act within law and stated that the ministry’s information systems provide the possibility to oversight the activity of business units, and that the Operational Investigation Department officers will, upon identifying discrepancies, undertake operational investigation activities and raids aimed at discovering business units who carry out delivery and transportation of goods without accompanying documents or without registration of such as prescribed by law.
