On October 16 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received Marie-Pierre Poirier, the UNICEF Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS. Information provided by the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service.
Welcoming the guest Minister Nalbandian stated that it is symbolic that the visit takes place during the days of the 20th anniversary of the UNICEF activities in Armenia. He noted that the Office of the Foundation has established intensive cooperation with the Government of Armenia, state institutions and NGO’s and this contributes to the effective implementation of various programs for children.
Expressing gratitude for the reception and the high appreciation of the UNICEF activities Marie-Pierre Poirier emphasized that the programs developed together with the Government of Armenia are successfully implemented, which is considerably contributing to solving the problems of children. Madam Poirier briefed Minister Nalbandian on the meeting of the Heads of the UNICEF Missions of the region which took place in Yerevan during her visit.
The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of discussions with different Government bodies on Cooperation Program with Armenia from 2016 to 2020 which took place during Madam Poirier’s visit. In this context the sides had an exchange of views concerning the different aspects of cooperation between Armenia and the UNICEF.
