President Serzh Sargsyan took part in the closing ceremony of the 5th Armenia-Diaspora Conference in the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Al. Spendiaryan, where he gave a speech. As informed by the RA President`s staff, he said that around 700 representatives of 150 organizations gathered here from 60 countries.
He referred to the problem of migration underlining: “The present situation allows us speaking about a new generation of diaspora. And instead of blaming each other in Armenia and in the Diaspora we should undertake practical measures to solve that problem. We should reveal the problems together and try to find solutions to them”.
And then he spoke about the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh stating that the resolution of the conflict is possible only through negotiations on the political-diplomatic levels. “War is not yet over, it was crowned with a cease-fire recording our victory”.
“2015 should become a year of serious initiatives and achievements for Armenia-Diaspora-Artsakh trinity. 2015 will also become a year of events and actions unprecedented in their levels and importance. We`ll state once more that we can form a united movement for the achievement of our national goals.”
In conclusion Serzh Sargsyan congratulated on the 23rd anniversary of the Republic of Armenia`s independence and called on all Armenians to strengthen their relations with the motherland.
