Protest Action in the Center of Vienna, or introduction of the Report “Syria’s GULAG”

On 14 July 20012 representatives of Syrian Diaspora in Austria organized a protest action against the Syrian powers near St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. The participants carried the flags of Syrian opposition with the word “FREEDOM”. They were disseminating among the passers-by information materials telling about the current developments in Syria.
One of the participants answered to the question of Iravaban.net saying that the goal of the action was to inform the Austrian public about the Report “Syria’s GULAG” of Human Rights Watch Organization, which was published on 3 July 2012.
Human Rights Watch Organization demanded in its report to impose punishment against the responsible persons for crimes against humanity committed in Syria in the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
On the assumption of the fact that Syria had not ratified the Roman Statute of International Criminal Court, the issue of Syria may be considered only in case when the UN Security Council shall adopt a resolution on passing the issue to the International Criminal Court in The Hague
