Prime Minister links the current Situation on the Border with the Meeting Sargsyan-Aliyev

During the working visit to Lori marz on 6 August Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan answered to a number of questions of media representatives.

During the briefing with the journalists the Prime Minister told about his impressions about the visits to the frontier communities and noted that that everyone in the military positions and in the communities are ready to defend the borders.

“The Government always has been careful and be more attentive to the problems of border villages in an attempt to define possible solution of the problems. So that the residents do not leave the frontier villages and have job. We are currently preparing a draft law to present to the National Assembly in September and to exempt from all taxes the business owners in 30 border community,” the Prime Minister said.

Speaking about the tense border situation the Head of the government said, “Shooting always has been there. And I connect this activity with the upcoming meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijanian President in Sochi. These incidents once and again showed that the Azerbaijanian Government should understand that today they have no opportunity to challenge the population of Armenia and Artsakh. The loss of each soldier is a great lose for all of us and we strive to rich the solution of Artsakh confrontation in result of peaceful negotiations.”

The Prime Minister refereed to the issues of the working meeting to Lori marz as well and mentioned that he was delighted with the repair work of Haghpat School and then spoke about the projects of Akhtala ore-dressing and processing enterprise. “Each mining company must work within the law, because the most important thing for us is our residents’ health and ecological problems. Today, over 700 people work at the enterprise and there is possibility to have additional 200 work places. I shall support to implementation of new projects and creation of jobs,” the prime minister added.

In respect of wages to be paid to Vanadzor chemical plant employees, Hovik Abrahamyan mentioned that the total depth of wages for one year is 350 million AMD, and wages for one month will be paid by 10 August. In case there are projects on reopening and development of the plant the Government will support to their implementation.

Answering the question on the arrest of philanthropist Levon Hayrapetyan, the Prime Minister said, “He has always helped in the development of all projects in Artsakh, and has always been with Artsakh people: We appreciate his philanthropy and will try to help him as a benefactor of our nation in the framework of our authorities.”
