Inmates in prisons in the Brazil are being offered the chance to reduce their jail terms in return for generating electricity by pedaling on exercise bicycles.
The prisoners ride bicycles, and produce energy power, which lights 10 of the cast iron street lamps that dot the riverside promenade.
In result of each cycling the sentence is reduced for 1 day.
