According to the website of the Human Rights Defender, the head of “Journalists for Human Rights” NGO, Janna Alexanyan applied to Karen Andreasyan telling about the insulting words addressed to her during and after the announcement the court verdict on the criminal case on the death of Vahe Avetyan on March 24 in the Court of General Jurisdiction of Avan and Nor-Nork Administrative Districts. Unfortunately such cases are not exceptional.
Human rights defender expresses his concern about the insults and threats addressed to the journalists and the advocated of the cases in the court session. Threatening and insulting the people during the courts sessions are first of all disrespect towards the court and is criminally punished. Participation of journalists, advocated and other people during the court sessions is the most important element of publicity principles. Hence, the human rights defender considers unacceptable any form of pressure upon them and expects the extreme willingness and vigilance of the police and the bailiffs.
