In our country refugees and asylum seekers are provided free legal advice, assistance, formation of documents and representation in courts. From 2011 July 1 the program “Legal Representation to Asylum Seekers” is jointly carried out with UNHCR Yerevan Office and the Armenian Young Lawyers Association.
In the framework of the program, the decisions made by the State Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration of the RA to refuse the applications of refugees are appealed. According to the employees, there are cases when foreign countries demand to hand in this or that refugee as a criminal.
In the framework of the international program “Legal Representation to Asylum Seekers”, trainings are organized in Law faculties of universities about the legal status of refugees and asylum seekers.
