The protest action by supporters of RA Second President Robert Kocharyan has started in the Republic Square with the demand to release him.

The head of the initiative group, Armen Minasyan, stated that starting from today, a long-term stage of struggle will begin.

“Damage to human dignity and honor should not take place in Armenia. He was found guilty and it was announced that those guilty have been appointed by the media, not remembering that there is only one competent body found guilty – the court, or rather to say therew as such body, as currently the court does not exists any longer.”

Notably, the RA Appellate Court ruled to leave the decision of the First Instance Court on the measure of restraint of RA Second President Robert Kocharyan. The Court of First Instance had earlier ruled detention as a measure of restraint for Robert Kocharyan.
