Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan visited today the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, in the Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice.

According to the Ombudsman’s Facebook page, the Ombudsman had a private talk with Kocharyan, the conditions of the investigation were studied. A number of issues were discussed immediately after the talk with the administration of the penitentiary and received a solution.

Robert Kocharyan has not complained about the attitude of the penitentiary officials, according to the statement.

The Ombudsman’s Office has initiated a review procedure to take the necessary steps within the scope of the powers provided by law.

The Ombudsman’s staff expresses readiness to fully cooperate with Robert Kocharyan’s lawyers.
