CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov is also charged with the March 1 Case

On 26 July, 2018, CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov was charged with a criminal offense on the basis of sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation on the criminal case in the RA Special Investigative Service on the events that took place in Yerevan from 1 March 2008 to 2 March 2008. The former President has been charged according to Article 300.1 Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code for the fact that he has overthrown the Constitutional Order of the Republic of Armenia with prior agreement with other persons.

The investigator filed a motion to the Yerevan City Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance to choose a detention as measure of restraint for Yuri Khachaturov.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent until his/her guilt is proved by a court judgment that has come into legal effect pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
