As it was reported, the Executive Director of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has been arrested by the National Security Service , and the Special Investigation Committee has charged the former Defense Minister Mikael Harutyunyan in relation to March 1.

Before the beginning of the government session, NSS Director Artur Vanetsyan mentioned that Ara Vardanyan insisted that he had used 25 million AMD credit card funds for personal purposes but has returned the money back.

“According to his statement, he has returned, but it will be clear when we shall accomplish the investigation. I cannot give a clear answer to that question yet. We definitel know that he had withdrawn about 130 million drams and played in casinos. Checks should be carried out. We shall inform you when they are over. Using credit line itself is criminally punishable,” Ventsetsyan said.

In relation to the former Minister of Defense, Artur Vanetsyan mentioned: “Mikael Harutyunyan has left the country when criminal persecution has not been initiated against him yet. The NSS is in full control over the situation.”
