NSS on the Search at Manvel Grigoryan’s Rest Zone

On 16 June, 2081, the employees of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of the implementation of the functions directed to the fight against crime pursuant Article 235 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, carried out a search at the resort owned by General Manvel Grigoryan, located on the Lchapnya Street of the Arshaluys village of the Armavir marz, as well as in his house located at 46, Alaverdyan Street, in Etchmiadzin.

The resort, owned by Manvel Grigoryan, was turned into an armor storehouse, car park of dozens of retro and modern cars. The Summerhouse at Aknalich (Lake Akna) has also served for the general as a storehouse of for label for food “soldier’s ration”, hygienic supplies, medicines, and military equipment. It was clear from the letters to the boxes addressed to the soldiers that the contents of the boxes were the support for the frontline soldiers during the four-day war in April 2016.

Military T-shirts, socks, medicines, bandages … why it all appeared in the resort of Aknalich, will investigate the Investigation Department of the National Security Service within the framework of the criminal case initiated under Article 235 of the Criminal Code. Foods sent from dozens of kindergartens, schools, communities to soldiers, condensed milk, pasta, tomato paste, canned meat and vegetables, even hygiene items, toilet paper, were also stored in the rest zone. As a result of the search items for “soldier”, which were supplied to the Ministry of Defense, which were not subject to sale or other needs were found as well.

The ammunition found and confiscated in the area belonging to Manvel Grigoryan was also remarkable. During the search of 28 Arshaluys village summerhouse, 18 anti-tank mortars, 20 F-1 grenades, 21,589 different caliber cartridges, 12 pieces of explosive material of 400 tons of explosives, 27 KD types of explosives, 2 bullets and some other ammunition. 79 guns with factory numbers, 39 pistols with factory numbers and 12,300 different caliber cartridges were confiscated from the mansion belonging to Manvel Grigoryan at 46 Alaverdyan Street in Etchmiadzin city. There were also dozens of certificates of property in the house.

There are also three car parks in the resort house belonging to Manvel Grigoryan, a collection of modern cars, retro cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. It was also noteworthy that a series of SUVs and an ambulance which were designated for the army during the four-day war in April were also discovered. They were donated to the Defense Army by the representatives of the Armenian community of Russia, which M. Grigoryan formulated by the names of his friends and transferred to his own car park.

The MP also has a private zoo where tigers, a bears, and ostriches were kept. There was also a hippodrome there. On the basis of the data obtained, it became clear that the food for the soldiers who participated in the four-day war in April was used by Manvel Grigoryan to feed the animals of his own zoo.
