The RPA has always stated that the priority for it is the interests of the state, the Homeland, the security and internal stability of Armenia and Artsakh. Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov said after the RPA session

” Guided by these challenges and priorities, the RPA has decided that the RPA faction of the National Assembly will not nominate a PM candidate. Political situation has changed: there is an internal political crisis in the country. There are new realities in Armenia, and we have repeatedly said that the priority for us is not the party, but the interests of the state. We are guided by the principle “With my party, but for the sake of our nation”. When the Republican Party was being formed headed by Ashot Navasardyan, then Andranik Margaryan, Vazgen Sargsyan, the political fathers and founders of our party, did not give the concept of party politics to us. They left the concept of state building and statehood is vested in us,” Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly said.
The Republican Party of Armenia is one of the most important pillars of statehood of independent Armenia. ” Pillar of independent state does not mean that you shall always be the Power. The interests of the state is the primary issue for us. Our homeland shall not be subject to shocks. We need strong Armenia and not strong shocks. This is a conscious decision based on internal stability and the security of Armenia and Artsakh,” Sharmazanov said.
