The first stage of grants program has been launched within the framework of EU-funded “Constructive Dialogue Commitment” Project. Coalitions/Networks of non-governmental and non-profit civil society organizations (CSOs) can apply for it. The deadline for applying for a grant of up to 25 million AMD is April 30.
Today, Mr. Karen Zadoyan, Project Manager and President of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, presented the terms and conditions for applying to the grants program to around 70 CSO members in Yerevan.
The studies carried out in the scope of this project have shown that CSOs need joint efforts and participation in addressing issues in a range of public sectors are necessary for building sustainable dialogue with the government and development of evidence based public policies, advocacy, as well as monitoring of implementation of the policies.
These actions can be carried out both by existing and operational CSO coalitions, as well as by newly formed coalitions and by individual CSOs. Notably, The objective of the Project Grants Component is to build or support the existing CSO Coalitions (Networks) in the 9 target sectors of the Project, ensuring their increased impact on public policy development, advocacy and public participation in these processes..
The 9 target sectors of the project are: justice (1), human rights (2), public finance management (3), business (4), education (5), social sphere, social inclusion of children with disabilities (6), agriculture (7), economy (8), energy (9).
It is also envisaged to provide sub-grants to CSO Coalitions (Networks) in the second stage of the grants project, which will be launched in the 6th month of the first stage. The second phase of the sub-grants is non-competitive and grants (up to 8.5 million AMD) will be awarded to the CSO Coalitions (Networks) whose programs will be evaluated as effective.
