Today, a peaceful march from the Liberty Square to the Government building was held in the memory of Artur Sargsyan (who brought bread to the members of the armed group which had occupied the Police Patrol Service Regiment in July 2016).
The march was peaceful, excluding the small incident that occurred in the intersection of Abovyan-Sayat Nova streets, where the participants sat blocking the traffic for a few minutes .
The police, headed by the Deputy Chief of Yerevan Police Valeri Osipyan, forced the activists to leave the carriageway.
Then the participants then returned to Liberty Square.
Tomorrow, March 21, as the last few days, there will not be a march from the Liberty Square. After lighting candles a march from the sports and concert complex to the funeral parlor of Shahumyan cemetery will take place. Artur Sargsyan will be buried in Shahumyan Cemetery.
The dirge in the memory of Artur Sargsyan will take place on Tuesday, the 21st of March at 18:00 in St. Lazar Hall near Shahumyan Cemetery (152 Lukashin str.). The funeral is on 22 March at 14:00.
Artur Sargsyan who was accused of supporting the group “Sasna Tsrer” died on 16 March in “Armenia” Medical Center.
