Regional Social Service Technology Center will be established in Armenia

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, in January 2017, the establishment of the Regional Social Service Technology Center and the process of passing the “IBM” Curam systems is being launched in Armenia.

The signing ceremony of the contract between “Nork” Social Service Technology and Awareness Center” Foundation and “IBM Eastern Europe and Asia” had taken place in the State Social Security Service of the RA, on 26 December, 2016.

This is the continuation of the memorandum of cooperation signed on 2 December, 2014, under the auspices of “IBM” and the USAID/PRIP Program.

The signed contract is aimed at establishing the Regional Social Service Technology Center in Armenia, which will provide not only the Armenia Social system but also the technology export and related services in the regional countries.

Information Technology is one of priority directions of Armenia’s economy, and our country is poised to become a major player on the regional level. The Government of Armenia has adopted a strategy to create a common software platform for all information systems. For this propose international best practice and technological several solutions were studied. Currently, 1/3 of the state budget is directed to various social projects, which are implemented by the agencies under the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. That is why the Government was to introduce modern technological solutions.

“IBM” Curam” system has software solutions that are in line with the government’s strategy on the social inefficient in many countries.
