At today’s Government meeting, Arman Sahakyan, the Head of State Property Management Department introduced a draft decision which implies allocation of 1 million AMD to this structure so that it is able to cover the maintenance costs of Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.
Justification of the draft states that 1,040,900.8 AMD shall be allocated on the expense of the reserve fund of the Government of Republic of Armenia which is planned in the 2016 state budget of the RA. 100,447.1 AMD of this amount shall be directed to fulfill the priority needs and the remaining 940,453.7 AMD will be returned to the state budget of the RA as VAT. After acquisition of the property the Department will provide it on the right of gratuitous use to Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex SNCO.
After the issue was submitted the Prime Minister asked some questions about the complex activities and the powers of its managers. “I understand that it is a burden and creating a business environment related to it complicated,” the Prime Minister said and added that it is necessary to find a manager who should be able to start a business, , make a profit, pay taxes: “Lets provide the sector, and say, do not ask for money from us, earn money, and pay taxes.”
It should be noted that last year the Government sold the Sports Complex to Vahak Dino Awadisian, who was accused in financial crime and was wanted in the US. And only thanks to the persistent work of Iravaban.net it was revealed that the transaction agreement had been annulled on the reasoning that the specified amount was not paid.
