We have got a Complicated Law: Aram Manukyan about the Electoral Code

“The law cannot be a law if the public interest is not a part of this law,” considered the MP Aram Manukyan at the working meeting “Recommendations: Draft Regulatory-Reforms” Road-map for Armenia,” addressing the Electoral Code of the RA. “There were no public discussions of the code, and no such discussions can be held on it any longer. It has undergone radical changes. No one could seriously study it during 30 – 40 days, understand its essence and make recommendations. And as a result we have complicated law,” Aram Manukyan declared.

Mr. Manukyan brought an example from the code, and then concluded, “This convolutidness and intricacy has not passed expertise. This law does not serve to public interest and the problem which the law refers to. It is not correct to submit to the Parliament such a law, written on 220 pages and provide only 30 days to study it and to cotes, and then come back and say ‘Apply it’!” he said.
