A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shangavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on swindle of EU grants in particularly large amount. The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Informs.
According to initial data, the project “Fundamental Rights and Freedoms the Guarantee of Future” was developed through making and using false documents in 2012 by a group of people with prior agreement and was submitted to EU Delegation to Armenia. In order to carry out the project they received a grant from which they swindled money in particularly large amount by cheating.
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shangavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 178 and the Part 2 of the Article 325 of RA Criminal Code.
During preliminary investigation a decision has been made to appoint European Union Delegation as an injured party, a number of witnesses have been questioned.
Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
Additional information on procedural decisions made on the base of investigation results will be provided.
