The US Government is pleased to cooperate with Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA: Richard Mills

“The US Government is pleased to cooperate with Prosecutor General’s Office of the RA in fight against corruption,” the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills said at the meeting with the RA Prosecutor General. Emil Babayan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the RA, Senior Lawyer on anti-corruption issues of the Department of Justice of the United States Peter Eisenford; Permanent Legal Advisor of the US Embassy in Armenia John Lulejian; lawyer-expert from the US Department Of Justice Kristina Afoyan attended the meeting as well.

The RA prosecutor General welcomed the organization of constructive and effective meetings on the topic of corruption, mentioned that fight against corruption remains a priority for the prosecution. Gevorg Kostanyan attached importance to the exchange of experience both in legislative and in practical terms taking into account the peculiarities of the RA and the US legislation.

The parties discussed the issues related to the procedures of detection of corruption crimes. The RA Prosecutor General listed the priorities that are more appropriate to discuss during the working meeting with the prosecutors and investigators that the US Embassy was going to organize.

“Visists of the experts like Senior Lawyer on anti-corruption issues of the Department of Justice of the United States Peter Eisenford, shall enable to exchange views on possible solutions to this serious problem,” the US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills said.

During the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation as well.
