Why did the Inspector Demand 22.000 USD Bribe? A Criminal Case was held in SIS

A prisoner at “Nubarashen” penitentiary institution of the RA Ministry of Justice and a criminal defendant at the proceedings of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Districts, Armen M. reported that the former inspector on particularly important cases of the RA Police, who held the preliminary investigation of his criminal case, demanded 22.000 USD bribe in September 2014 to resolve the process of the case in his favor.

In case of not giving the amount of the bribe, the inspector threatened to frame him for a crime, but he refused to give bribe to the latter (inspector). The inspector made criminal case frauds to justify his dishonesty, after which he finished Armen’s case by making an indictment and sent it to the court.

For demanding a bribe in particularly large amount bribe and making official fraud, a criminal case was initiated under the provisions of Article 311, Part 4, Point 2, and Article 314, Part 1, of the RA Criminal Code in the Special Investigation Service.

A preliminary investigation is in process.
