16.5 Million AMD is allocated to SIS for increasing the Number of Investigators

The Special Investigation Service of the RA shall receive 16 million 537 thousand 600 AMD to the Special Investigation Service, of which 4,134.4 AMD from the Government’s reserve funds according to the article on economic classification of budget spending, “Salaries and Bonuses of Employees”. The Decision of the Government is already published in the e-gov website.

The draft decision was included in the agenda of 17 September Government session, but the issue was removed. The Government approved it on the session on 25 September.

It is specified in the justification of the proposal that due to the workload of SIS investigative activities it is necessary to increase the number of staff members which is aimed at alleviating investigators’ huge and unprecedented workload which, in its turn, will definitely reduce the current tension and, therefore, will also improve the quality of investigations, as well as will exclude the cases of high-qualified employees’ possible resignation due to heavy workload. The analysis and calculations clarified that the Service staff needs to be replenished with 7 vacancies of Senior Investigators for particularly important cases (PIC).

It is indicated that the increase of the staff list requires additional funds, which the Service lacks.

Gagik Khachatryan, the RA Minister of Justice had introduced the draft.
